Paintsil out for action for six weeks

John Paintsil could be out of action for six weeks with a hamstring tear, Black Stars team doctor, Baba Adams has confirmed.

The injury rules him our of Ghana's third-place play-off at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations against Mali on Saturday.

Paintsil was forced from the pitch after six minutes into the start of the game during the Black Stars' semi-final match at the Nations Cup on Wednesday in Port Elizabeth.

Dr. Baba Adams told www.ghanafa.org: "He suffered a hamstring injury. We expect him to probably be out for up to six weeks with his hamstring.
