The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has fixed the third leg of the Interplast-Sea & Shore National Circuit Championships for Saturday at the El Wak Stadium.

The competition is expected to draw over 200 athletes to compete for honors following the two successful Circuit championships held in Sunyani and Akatsi in the last two months.

The Championship will hit the capital for the first time after the competition was successfully introduced onto the local athletics scene in 2014 where it was held in four venues in the country including Wa, Sekondi-Takoradi, Koforidua and Kumasi.

The Championships aims to promote athletics in every corner of the country and also to prepare them for the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville in September.

The championships have also witness several senior and junior athletes opening their season with notable performances on grass tracks from African 4x100m relay medalist Beatrice Gyaman, who won the women’s 100m in 11.90 sec while John Osei Kofi clocked 21.68 in the 200m final in Sunyani.
