Mensah offered $250,000 a year deal by Hapoel Tel Aviv

Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv have reportedly made a $250,000 offer for Ghana captain John Mensah.

The ex Olympique Lyon defender is currently training with West Ham who want to take an extensive look before making a move for the free agent.

The 29-year-old is however keen on securing a move to an English Premier League club despite interests from Turkey and Scotland.

“Mensah has not confirmed whether he would accept the offer or not as his eyes are on the English Premiership and he is currently training with West Ham for a possible deal,” his public relations manager Frank Ampadu told Goal.com Ghana.

“There are also offers from Turkey and Scotland and God willing he would be back to action soon.”

Mensah who has also played in France and Italy for Rennes and Chievo Verona respectively spent two seasons in England on loan with Sunderland from 2009.

He however had his contract with Lyon mutually terminated following his return from the Stadium of Light where he was plagued by injuries.
