Ghanaian international, Abdul Majeed Waris is of the view Kwesi Appiah is a better coach than Avram Grant.

Waris who has been tipped to step into the shoes of Asamoah Gyan as the striker for the Black Stars was left out of the 2017 AFCON squad by Avram Grant.

The former Chelsea and West Ham manager was heavily criticized and slammed for his lackluster and boring playing style which made things difficult for the national team to play exciting as well as entertaining football couple with scoring less goals during his two-year period with the Black Stars.

However, the striker has waded into the debate, describing the current coach Kwesi Appiah, who is having a second stint with the national team as a better coach than the former Portsmouth trainer.

“I can’t really compare and can just say Avram Grant is a good coach Kwesi Appiah is very good as well.” Waris told Ultimate FM.

“If I have to choose, I will choose Kwesi Appiah because he had more trust in me than Avram Grant.

“Everyone wants to work under a coach who has trust in him. On his comeback we won five goals to nil. And I can’t remember the last time we won by that margin.

“We all have to support him not only the players but the whole nation.” He added.
