Kotoko release Ochaya for CECAFA Cup

Asante Kotoko have okayed a request by the Ugandan Football Association to have left back Joseph Ochaya feature for the country’s senior team, the Cranes in the up-coming CECAFA-Tusker Challenge Cup set for November 24- December 8, footy-Ghana.com can reveal exclusively.

Ochaya who has significantly gained an influential role in the Kotoko set-up flew out of the country on Tuesday to join the Cranes of Uganda as they prepare to host other 11 East Africa countries in the 2012 edition of the CECAFA Cup.

The former Kampala City Council (KCC) defender joined Asante Kotoko two months ago after impressing in an outing with the Ugandan U-20 side who were eliminated in the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers by the Black Satellites.

Uganda who are the most successful team in this competition with 12 titles will play their first game against bitter rivals Kenya in the second of the tournament’s opening day’s fixtures this Saturday, November 24.
