Former IBF Bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko, has revealed to Starr Sports of getting the country a world title anytime soon.

Agbeko’s management is planning to put up four fights this year and has already started talks with a number of boxers over his return to the ring after eight months.

The 35-year-old holds a fight record of 30 wins and 5 losses, triumphed in his last bout against Juanita Rubillar with a fourth round technical knockout victory in May last year.

Agbeko is confident of redeeming the country’s title drought over seven years.

“I am definitely going to be very active this year and as you know I never give up at least some big fights this year. With this I am working harder and always been in the gym and my kids also want a title as well as the country”, he told Starr Sports.
