Hearts meet liberty to raise funds for C'wealth

THE once-postponed grudge match between city rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak and Liberty Professionals, will now be honoured at the Accra Stadium on Sunday. This time, both the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council have added their blessings to the match.

Thus, the stage is set for a repeat of the usual uncompromising exchanges between the two sides.

According to the organisers, Liberty were chosen from the lot to face the champion club in this encounter since they are widely tipped to have the potential to halt Hearts? current unbeaten run.

The match, fixed for tomorrow, had to be rescheduled for Sunday to be a perfect replacement for the Hearts-Kotoko second round opener, which has been postponed to July 21.

Already, Hearts and Liberty are bracing themselves for this all-important match aimed at raising funds for Ghana?s Commonwealth Games contingent.

As part of the package for the fans who will watch this game, a special ?spot the ball? contest will be introduced at the gates.

The first five fans who win the contest will be privileged to join the Ghana cheer group to the World Athletics Championships in Madrid next September.

In addition to that will be various consolation prizes ranging from motor cycles, television sets and other items for other 20 winners.
