Hasaacas hold All Blacks

Swedru, Jan 31, GNA - Visiting Sekondi Hasaacas put up a splendid performance to hold Gamba All Blacks to a goalless drawn game in the 20th mid-week football encounter of the Onetouch Premier League played at the Swedru Sports Stadium.

Owusu Mensah of Hasaacas in the 44th minute also squandered a glorious opportunity to put his side ahead after the All Blacks goalie was completely beaten in a goal mouth melee.

Dan Ocran and Dan Adu-Nyarko of Hasaacas and Theophilus Andoh of All Blacks were shown yellow cards in the first half while Dan Amadu-Nyarko also of Hasaacas received the marching off orders the 56th minute for a wild tackle on an All Blacks striker, Richard Anderson. The two teams exhausted their substitution in a bid to strengthen their attack but this did not yield any positive results till the close of proceedings.

Olympics achieved the feat when Tanko Mohammed capitalized on a defensive blunder by Loins right half back, Samuel Sowada to score the opener in the second minute of proceedings.

In the 23rd minute, the efforts of Lions Sadat Bukari at goal grazed the goal posts to the relief of the visiting team.

The two teams returned from the recess more energized but play was concentrated in the midfield until Suleimana equalized in the 81st minute in a goalmouth melee for the home side.
