Former Netherlands international Ryan Babel and Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan will be leading the strike force for Al Ain next season after the former signed a two-year deal with Al Ain.

Babel could not hide his joy after announcing on his personal website on Thursday about his decision to leave Turkish club Kasimpasa for Al Ain.

“I am happy to announce that it’s 100% official now! I am proud to represent Al Ain for the next two years and looking forward to this journey.

“I want to thank my former club Kasimpasa for their service, trust and confidence in me. I want to thank my Kasimpasa team-mates and wish them the best for this season. And last but not least, I want to thank all the people who have supported me over the years and still do. I appreciate each and every one of you guys,” he added.

The capture of the former Liverpool player gives a hint about Al Ain’s recruitment plans for the season.

Last week, there were reports about John Obi Mikel also moving to Al Ain.

Zlatko Dalic’s side, who won the 2014/2015 league title, are hoping to present a strong squad for the next edition of the Asian Champions League.

Babel has also formerly played for Ajax and TSG Hoffenheim. Apart from the Dutch senior national team, he has featured for the junior categories.
