Golfers gear up for Peugeot Challenge Finals

Accra, June 29, GNA - All is set for the finals of this year's Peugeot Challenge Golf Finals scheduled for the Tema Country Golf Course on Sunday, July 2.

In all 120 amateur golfers are expected to participate in the one-day event, which is being organised by Prestige Motor Company Limited in collaboration with Lufthansa Airlines.

Mr Nich Adi-Dako, Managing Director of Prestige Motor Company Limited, in a media briefing to launch the competition on Thursday, said his company is sponsoring the event as part of its contribution to the development of the lesser-known sports in the country.

He said since the company started sponsoring the event, some five years ago, interest in it from golfers has grown year after year. Mr Adi-Dako stated that the spirit of fair competition and the desire to win are some of the values that the event had generated. Mr Joshua Peprah, Competition Secretary of the Tema Country Golf Club thanked the management of the Prestige for putting everything in place for the smooth organisation of the competition. Mr Kwaku Adiedu Boateng, a Representative of Luftansa German Airlines promised that his company would continue to sponsor the event in the coming years. The winners in the Men and the Ladies categories would represent Ghana in the World Peugeot Challenge Golf Championship scheduled for France in August. Papa Owusu Ankomah, Minister of Education, Science and Sports was the special guest of honour.
