Ghana Ratings Vs Guinea

Adam Kwarasey (6.5): he was not tested much but he made two timely saves to deny the Guineans a goal. His timing was much improved and cannot be faulted for the equalizer. Every good goalkeeper will come off his line in anticipation of a cross. It was just a great goal from Camara.

John Paintsil (5.5): He had a nightmarish game and the way Camara ghosted past him to score the equalizer made him feel old. His usual overlapping runs and tidy crosses were also missing. I wonder how he was voted man-of-the match!!!

John Boye (7.5): Assured display from the youngster. He was full of grit and battled like a true warrior

Isaac Vorsah (6): he seemed a little jittery and was a pale shadow of himself but he warmed himself into the game later. I’ll prefer a Jonathan Mensah – John Boye central defensive pairing any day.

Massawudu Alhassan (7.5): energetic, dedicated and full of running.

Anthony Annan (5.5): missing for large parts of the game and allowed the Guineans to boss the midfield. He showed up in latter parts of the game though.

Agyeman-Badu (7.5): Superb technique to deliver a thunderbolt of a shot. Gritty performance.

Samuel Inkoom (5.5): His crosses were weak and his touches and passes suspect. He did loads of running on the flanks but his output wasn’t convincing.

Andre Ayew (6.5): As usual the object of brutal play. He carried on with his usual grit and nimble footwork.

Kwadwo Asamoah (5): Highly inconspicuous for large parts of the game. His trademark runs, dummies and shots were missing.

Asamoah Gyan (6): He was totally starved of supply from a non-existent midfield and was also the target of rough play. He seemed to have won a clean penalty but the referee thought otherwise. Always a threat in opposing boxes.

Subs

Derek Boateng (6.5): Brought some stability and composure into the midfield

Prince Tagoe (4.5): The mark of great player is what he does with the few minutes he’s allowed on the pitch. He had a free header to win the game for the stars but his header lacked conviction and direction.

Charles Takyi (n/a): I didn’t see much of him and I will be a liar to attempt to rate him. My recommendations

1. I ‘ll prefer a Johnathan Mensah – John Boye defensive pairing. They are both tough, quick and also have great anticipation

2. I’ll prefer to start Derek Boateng ahead of Anthony Annan to give the midfield some composure. Derek has a better passing game and is also a great tackler.

3. I’ll prefer Opare to John Paintsil. Opare is grittier, faster and hungrier.

4. I will drop Inkoom and try anybody else!!!! Inkoom is full of running but no end-result

A great team is a team that is able to grind out a result no matter how badly they play and Ghana, my beloved country is a great team!!!! No doubt!!!! Go Ghana, Go!!!!!!
