Gbagbo swerves Kojo Bonsu, two others

Embattled former Adidas country representative, Kojo Bonsu, together with two government officials, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and Madam Hellen Annan, who were included in the Black Satellite team’s trip to Ivory Coast on Monday to receive honors from Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo, suffered yet another embarrassment as the three were excluded from official list of personalities to be honored by the Ivorian leader in Abidjan.

The victorious team and officials were invited by the Ivorian leader for a reward package for conquering and winning the FIFA Under-20 World Cup last October in Egypt.

Reports gathered by this reporter has it that the playing body, numbering twenty-one, the eight member technical team and two management officials, Jordan Anagbla and Kwame Ntow Fianko together with Youth and Sports minister, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo were decorated with the Order of Cote d’Ivoire while GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi received the highest order of the Ivorian land, Commander of Cote d’Ivoire.

For their reward, each member of the playing body together with the technical team received a cash prize of One Million CFA (CFA 1.Million).

However, it was after the ceremony that Hon. Rashid Pelpuo introduced, Kojo Bonsu, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and Mad. Hellen Annan to the Ivorian leader as representatives from the ruling government only to be told that they were not included in the package but will call on them next time.
