Former Newcastle United starlet Frank Wiafe Danquah netted for Fortuna Sittard in their 2-2 stalemate with Fortuna Koln in a pre-season friendly on Friday.

The 26-year-old forward who spent two seasons at the English side between 2008 and 2010 netted on the 61st-minute mark to end the game in a draw.

Danquah, who began his career with Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam, was sold to the Magpies, but he failed to make a senior appearance at the St James' Stadium.

The Dutch-born played in Romania for a couple of seasons before returning to the Netherlands to play for FC Lienden where he scored 12 goals last season.

Sittard are banking their hopes on the attacker to produce goals in their Eredivisie promotion chasing campaign.
