Faisal trounce Liberty 3-1

Kumasi, July 6, GNA - King Faisal Babies F/C trounced Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals 3-1 in the last and final round of this year's Onetouch Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday.

Ironically it was Liberty who drew the first blood in the 31st minute through Emmanuel Osei in the soggy turf after a heavy down pour before the beginning of the game. Liberty had a free kick in the vital area of King Faisal and instead of shooting straight at goal Daniel Yeboah gave a push to Osei who expertly sent a powerful drive which beat goalkeeper Osei Boateng in post for Faisal.

Liberty worked hard and held on to the lone goal to end the first half in their favour. In the 56th minute, David Addo of Liberty was shown the red card for rough play just outside his vital area but the resultant kick was wasted.

Faisal, with their pride at stake improved on their game plan and made series of incursions into the visitors goal area and came on level terms in the 65th minute through Eric Agyeman whose right footer hit the post and deflected into the yawning net with goalkeeper Daniel Agyei sprawling in vain.

Faisal who capitalized on their numerical advantage shot ahead in the 69th minute through Daniel Addo who headed home a cross from Thomas Avorgbedor in a goalmouth melee. Abraham Basit sealed the doom of Liberty when he converted a spot kick which was awarded them by referee Alhassan Yakubu Nuhu in the 78th minute after Richard Kusi Boateng had handled the ball in the box.
