Young tennis players will showcase their talents at this year’s Ball Boys Tennis Tournament, to be played at the 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club in Kumasi on Saturday August 29.

Significantly, this year’s tournament has attracted sponsorship from a Senior Military Officer, Major Franklin Gyamerah-Amoako, who is a member of the 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club.

In all, about eight young tennis ball boys are expected to participate in the tournament which has attractive prizes including a trophy and cash for the winners.

Evans Tinduug, the defending champion, would face stiff competition from Thomas Abatokora, Isaac Balotiga, Bismark Adonaoga, Alex Antwi Boadi and Tule Adongo.

Major Gyamera-Amoako told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS that he was motivated by the massive development that had taken place at the club recently to sponsor this year’s tournament.

The annual tournament is staged to give a common platform for ball boys at the Mess Tennis, who are the future of the sport and the club, to also showcase their immense talents.

President of the club, Samuel Ampadu-Kyei commended Major Gyamerah-Amoako for his gesture which would go a long way to promote tennis among the youth at Mess Tennis.

He said the tournament is part of the club’s programme of developing young and fresh talents who are of great service to the club, appealing to individuals and corporate institutions to help the club in its efforts to promote the game.
