Essien: La Liga more fun

Michael Essien has revealed that he finds La Liga 'more fun' than physical Premier League.

The Ghana international joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in the summer, and the 30-year-old has claimed that he is enjoying life in the Spanish capital.

“The competition in England is very physical,” he told ESPN. “From what I've seen so far in La Liga, the teams want to play more football. This makes it more fun to play.

“In England some teams do not focus on playing, but more on the physical contact. This is where I see the big difference.”
