Newly elected FIFA Council member, Kwesi Nyantakyi, believes he has learnt a huge lesson from Hayatou’s ousting in the recent CAF elections and will relinquish his Ghana FA position when the time is due.

He has therefore called on his critics not to push him out through the media.

Nyantakyi played a major role in Madagascar’s Ahmad Ahmad to end Hayatou’s 29 years reign as president of CAF in Addis Ababa last Thursday. The Madagascan polled 34 votes with Hayatou securing 20 votes.

“Is a lesson we should all learn, when you [are] in leadership, a time will come that you have to move if you don’t move on you will be moved away; all of us including me. A time will come a strong wind will move you away”, Nyantakyi told the press upon arrival from Ethiopia.

Nyantakyi will be a FIFA Council member till 2021 and it is believed his impact will have a huge toll on Ghana football.
