'Don’t blame only coaches when things go wrong'

Head coach of Accra Hearts of oak has pleaded with supporters of the local clubs to rally behind their teams in times of difficulties.

Herbert preached against the notion that blames after defeats must be channeled to only head coach or the technical team.

According to Herbert Addo, “To the supporters, everything is technical. They don’t know that the team is made up of the other side. They don’t know the team is made up of board of directors and management. A team wins matches with only 20 percent of the hard work from the technical; the rest is directors, management. They have to do all the work but in Ghana, everything is technical.

“If the next coach but doesn’t get the facilities, equipment and the players are starving, how do you get the players motivated? Everybody must do his part. The coach can go. I will go today and tomorrow I may get a new job but the boys, the players. Are you thinking of the players? Ashgold is an example of a well managed club. Everybody is working towards one course which is Ashgold”.

Herbert Addo’s Accra Hearts of Oak currently occupies the eleventh place in the 2014/15 FCPPL after 20 league outings.

Hearts will be looking to build on the President Cup win over Kumasi Asante Kotoko when Hasaacas visits the Accra sports Stadium on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
