Ex-Hearts coach CK Akunnor has blamed club’s top hierarchy for the side’s downward spiral in the Ghanaian top-flight.

The former African champions are gasping for breath on the domestic scene with series of unflattering performances so far.

They are just above the relegation zone after losing 2-1 at home to Hasaacas to compound their misery.

The club is also facing a potential home ban after assistant referee Baidun Alhassan was hit with an object during their defeat to the Sekondi-based side.
Coach Herbert Addo has come under mounting pressure to quit with fans growing impatient with the players for their perceived lackluster attitude.

But former coach CK Akunnor has laid the blame at the doorstep of the club’s top hierarchy accusing them of reneging on their duties.

“It’s a failure that management has not paid the players for three months it’s a failure not on the part of the coach but management,” he said.

“They (management) will not look their mistakes and correct them but will rather blame the coach; maybe they should also go away for people to bring in fresh ideas.”

“I will blame the board members for what is happening at Hearts of Oak now.”
