Bok Nam Kim Memorial Golf tees off on Saturday

Accra, Oct. 31, GNA - This year's Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open Golf Championship will tee of at the Bok Nam Kim Golf Course at the Air-Force Officers Mess in Accra on Saturday, November 4.

Captain Anthony Ashiagbor, Captain of the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Tuesday, said the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition which is open to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region, was being sponsored by Afko Group of Companies.

He said about 60 golfers are expected to participate in the event which would be played in memory of Mr Bok Nam Kim, former Chief Executive Officer of the Afko Group of Companies, who single-handedly sponsored Ghana's contingent to the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea. Mr Bok Nam Kim, a keen sports enthusiast and a former President of the Tema Country Golf Club died in 1989.

Air Commodore K.K. Pumpuni, J.F. Sam, John Atta Nyamekye and Kwame Saraah-Mensah all of the Achimota Golf Club are expected to battle each other for the magnificent trophy.

Officials of Afko Group of companies are expected to grace the occasion.
