Hearts of Oak Managing Director, Gerald Ankrah has cautioned his side ahead of the final two games of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League despite winning a protest against Kotoko.

The Phobians on Tuesday, September 1 were declared winners of match day 25 game against their sworn rivals Asante Kotoko by the disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association.

In that game Hearts of Oak lost 2-1 in Accra and afterwards filed a protest against Kotoko over the eligibility of Obed Owusu after claiming the said player had accumulated four yellow cards preceding that game and the Disciplinary Committee following their hearing on the case declared Hearts of Oak winners.

Hearts of Oak after winning the protest were awarded with 3 points and 3 goals which moved them from the relegation zone to the 7th on the league table with 39 points and their rivals who were docked 6 points drop from the 3rd position to the 15th position.

Although the Phobians have jumped from the relegation zone, looking at the points build up on the log sheet, they can still be relegated if they fail to glitter in their last two games and the Managing Director of the club, Gerald Ankrah has cautioned his side ahead of the final two games despite winning the protest against Kotoko.

“We are very happy that we have won the protest case against Kotoko, football is played by rules and if you fail to apply it to the latter you will be punished.

We must not be complacency ahead of the final two games because I strongly believe that the latest Disciplinary Committee outcome willn’t affect our preparation for the Sunday’s game,” Gerald Ankrah told Allsports.com.gh.
Hearts of Oak on Sunday will host Berekum Chelsea in Accra on match day 29 of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier league.
