Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is on the verge of leaving Chinese side Shangai SIPG following the arrival of Brazilian striker Hulk.

Shanghai SIPG must now decide between keeping the Black Stars captain or Ivory Coast forward Jean Kouassi after spending 53m Euros on Hulk.

The 30-year old who joined SIPG a year ago from UAE side Al Ain for almost 20million euros scored ten goals in his first season but his second season has been blighted by injuries even though he has scored three goals.

There must be a quota of foreign players in any Chinese team and this for many could affect Gyan as Kouassi has scored four goals for Erikson’s side.

Shangai SIPG are under pressure to turn their season around after enduring a difficult start to the season.
