Annan in limbo, Wakaso fined heavily

Ghana's La Liga duo is not having such a rosy time following their respective Afcon fortunes. Mubarak Wakaso has been fined and Anthony Annan is in limbo.

The return of Ghanaian central midfielder Anthony Annan remains unclear due to problems encountered by the player in regularizing his paperwork to facilitate his return to the Osasuna team.

The situation has now called or the intervention of the club together with Ghanaian football authorities to ease the bureaucracy that has hampered the process.

The player, who arrived at Pamplona on loan in the summer from Schalke 04, was part of the Ghanaian team in the just ended 2013 Afcon. Ghana came fourth after losing 3-1 to Mali in the 3rd/4th place playoff.

Wakaso fined

The Black Stars new penalty taker has been fined 10,000 Euros by Espanyol after reporting late after the Afcon. He joined his team five days after the tournament ended. His return to the club was scheduled for Wednesday February 13 but presented himself the following Friday.

He explained his predicament by saying that he had contracted a strain of fever. Supersport.com understands that the imposition of a train-alone punishment has been lifted on Monday morning by head coach Javier Aguirre.

Wakaso will now join the first team, after the 22 year old's fine role for his country that led him to be joint top scorer with four goals. He is available to the coach for next Sunday's league match against Valladolid at the Cornella-El Prat Stadium.
