Abedi Pele to coach Wolrd XI in Vodafone Unity Cup

Ghana legend Abedi Pele will be on the sidelines for the World XI select side in the upcoming Vodafone Unity Cup, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Black Stars captain will handle the World XI side for both games in Kumasi and Accra.

The Vodafone Unity Cup will be played on the 8th and 11th of June in Kumasi and Accra respectively to canvass for peace as Ghana approaches the 2016 general elections.

The World XI side will be led by former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah to play Kotoko in Kumasi on the 8th and play the Black Stars in Accra on the 11th.

Many ex-European stars including Emile Heskey, Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink, Edgar Davids, Simao Sabrosa, William Gallas and Sol Campbell have confirmed their arrival for the event.

Other African stars including Nwakwo Kanu, Jay Jay Okocha, Alex Song, Samuel Eto’o and other great stars have also confirmed their participation.

Abedi Pele, an African great, will for the first time coach a side against his two sons Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew who will both play for the Black Stars.
