3rd edition Para sports festival opens

This years Para sports festival which happens to be the 3rd edition was held at the Community 4 basketball Court.

The event was centered on the theme -" PWDs for peace and Justice before during and after the elections.

The festival attracted the disability fraternity in the capital and primarily sought to foster Peace ahead of the December polls.

Amongst some sporting activities held were Ludo which saw joyce dotse emerging winner.

In the wheel chair basketball competition, Team Sheriff beat Alhaji Stars by 10-2.

In a brief remark, the aspiring NDC member of Parliament for Tema West, madam Emi Bright admonished all athletes to be disciplined.

She supported and committed to the course of Peace in that regard and believed Ghana will maintain that needed peace all the time.

The aspiring MP further presented an undisclosed amount of money to the Para athletes .

An extended version of the celebrations will be held on the 3rd of December 2016 at the Accra sports stadium.

In his remarks,Chief Executive Officer of Dan De Van group of companies Daniel Nii Mensah was of the view that the chosen theme for the celebrations clearly reflected the stance of the Disability fraternity.

"We want to experience an election free environment because we have no where to go ". He stated.
