2016 CHAN qualifier: Ghana to host Ivory Coast

GHANASoccernet.com can confirm Ghana’s 2016 CHAN final qualifying round first leg tie against Ivory Coast will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The local Black Stars have been preparing in Obuasi the last two weeks for the crucial tie.

Head coach Maxwell Konadu will rejoin the squad next week after leaving to assist Avram Grant for the friendly against Canada in Washington on 13 October.

The home-based national team beat Kumasi-based Division One League side Asokwa Deportivo 4-2 last Tuesday after recording a 1-0 win over Mine Stars in Prestea.

The winner over two legs will pick one of the three slots for Zone West B which Nigeria v Burkina and Niger v Togo.

Ghana reached the final of the last edition of the tournament in South Africa and lost to Libya on penalties.

The 2016 African Nations Championship finals will be hosted by Rwanda.
