Amsterdam gives computers to Accra Royal School

Accra Oct. 28 GNA- Visiting Deputy Mayor of Amsterdam Municipality Mr Mark van Der Horst on Friday donated 25 computers worth about 25,000 dollars to the Accra Royal School in James Town to facilitate learning. Mr Horst urged the students to take their computer lessons seriously, as that was essential to their success.

Mr Stanley Nii Agyiri Blankson, Mayor of Accra, said with the donation school located in a deprived area in Accra would not only be able to read about computers or admire them from afar but also use them in their studies.

He also expressed his appreciation to Amsterdam for donating 125 computers to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), recently. Mr Blankson said Ghanaians were prepared to learn and share with their Amsterdam counterparts their experiences to avoid pitfalls that befell many developing cities in the world as they made their way along the path to progress and modernity.

He called on community leaders to initiate projects that could improve the lot of the people and that AMA would support such ventures.
