GES responds to petitions on Computerised School Selections

Bolgatanga, Oct. 28, GNA - Out of the 1,000 petitions received from parents and guardians by the Upper East Regional Directorate of Education involving the placements of candidates selected schools and subjects through the newly Computerised School Selections Placement Systems (CSSPS), 10 affected candidates have so far been offered placements.

Schools that gave those admissions were the Navrongo Secondary, Bawku Secondary, Bolgatanga Secondary and Zuarungu Secondary, Gowrie Secondary/ Technical and the Bolgatanga Technical Schools. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Bolgatanga on Friday, the Regional Co-ordinator of the CSSPS, Mr James Adoganga explained that the 1,000 petitions received by the Regional Directorate of Education were forwarded to the head quarters of Ghana Education Service. He advised parents to exercise restraint since the exercise was an on-going one, saying schools have just been re-opened and were yet to declare the number of students who did not report for the affected students to be admitted in their places.

"As schools continue to declare their vacancies every day, more qualified students are being placed under the CSSPS", he stressed. As to whether there were protocol influences, Mr Adoganga explained that there was no such thing since the admissions were solely done by the CSSPS and were based on merit of candidates' performance.
