Catholic Parish constructs clinic, vocational school

Esaase (Ash), Oct 28, GNA - The Esaase-Bontefufuo Catholic Parish in collaboration with USAID has constructed a clinic and a vocational school estimated at 900 million cedis for the people of Esaase and Essuowin in the Amansie West district of Ashanti.

The Reverend Father James Owusu, Parish Priest, announced this when he received two computers and accessories on Wednesday donated by the Can Africa International Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) at Esaase on behalf of the Parish.

The presentation is to enhance the activities of the Church to promote quality education in the area.

Father Owusu stressed the need for Churches to be mindful of their social responsibilities to the communities they operated as their contribution to national development.

He commended the NGO for its commitment to the development of women and to establish a technical school at Esaase to train the youth in employable skills.

Mr Martin Danso Dapaah, Vice-President of the Foundation, urged Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) and NGOs to commit resources to help raise the standard of education in deprived communities. He said this was one of the ways children could be given quality education.
