I hope chairman Wontumi has complied with the directive and has pulled out all his excavators and other machineries from his galamsey sites.He used galamsey money to finance the NPP.

Was there no law earlier that forbidden them not to mine around water bodies alone to the extend of mining in waters? Stupid fools. Don't try! It has been banned till eternity. If you have hands in it, then the year 2020 is bye bye. Nsemfoon akwaakwa! Have you seen the rest of villagers who had suffered and will continue to suffer to the extend of the whole country from health related issues like air, land and water pollution? The problem with illegal miming operations in the is simply lack of opportunities for these able men and women who often lazing around in the neighborhood. The govt must provide an alternative source of income else the policy of protecting the environment won't work. Most of the people have families to feed and the money has to come from somewhere. If the govt is serious about protecting the environment, unskilled and uneducated youth, who are in the ring of garasey businesses should find a place in society.
