A farmer, who hurt another person in the left eye with a slingshot following a dispute over one cedi change, has been ordered by the Juaso Circuit Court to spend 96 months in prison.

Kwame Atitso was convicted after he pleaded guilty to the crime.

He shot Joseph Obogyei with a catapult, an act he carried out in defence of his landlord who was embroiled in quarrel with the victim.

Police Detective Sergeant Princeton Peasah Darkwah told the court, presided over by Mr. Fredrick Tetteh that the incident happened on Yawkwei near Juaso on February 20.

The victim had gone to one Thomas Kwasi Agyei, an alcoholic beverage and tobacco seller, to collect his one cedi change for some stuff bought and angered by the seeming reluctance to give him back the change a confrontation ensued between the two.
