AIK Stockholm sign up impressive Kpozo

Swedish giants AIK Stockholm have secured the cards of Ghana teenager Patrick Kpozo from local side Inter Allies for an undisclosed fee.

Kpozo, 17, is not eligible to immediately feature for AIK in the Swedish top flight due to his age but will, however, join the club’s training camp in Dubai to train and get used to his new teammates.

The highly rated natural left-back who was adjudged the Discovery of the 2014 MTN FA Cup will be qualified to feature in official matches for his new side when he turns 18 on 5 May, 2015.

According to AIK’s chief scout, Tobias Ackerman, the club have been following the youngster who has been an influential member of the Inter Allies first team squad for some time now.

“I have followed him on location in Ghana since he was 15 years,” Tobias told the club's website.

“He is a player with a good balance between offensive and defensive characteristics and possesses a good passing foot. With Patrick in, the squad becomes better balanced in the exterior position and increases the strength of the squad as a whole.”

The Solna-based club understand that despite his qualities, the young Ghanaian may need time to adapt to his new environment.

"Patrick has shown qualities that we both directly believe in. Over time, he adds to the squad competence but we have respect for the adaptation period for a young player who moves from Accra to Solna,” Tobias confessed.
