Amartey: I’ve learnt a lot from Awal and Mensah

Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey says he has already picked up valuable lessons from the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

Amartey who was a surprise inclusion in Ghana’s final 23-man squad for the tournament also says he is becoming more composed after some tutelage from Jonathan Mensah and Mohammed Awal.

“I am playing with experienced players and I try to listen to them a lot. It is a learning experience for me and I hope to get better as a player and a person”, Amarety told reporters in Mongomo.

Daniel Amartey who plays for F.C. Copenhagen is one of the few players who distinguished themselves in the defeat against Senegal on Monday.

He’s enjoying his meteoric rise but has told Sportscrusader.com that his major objective at the moment is to help the team qualify to the next stage of the tournament.

Ghana will play Algeria today with victory the only option to secure the team’s qualification to the next stage of the competition.
