We can win AFCON 2015 - Agyemang Badu

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu believes Ghana can win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations provided all of its key players remain fully fit.

The Black Stars struggled to book its place at next year’s finals to be staged in Equatorial Guinea as the team continues to suffer from the after effects of its disappointing campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

The team despite the wide belief of being in recession was good enough to qualify for the 2015 AFCON as winners of Group E with 11 points from a possible 18.

Ghana have not won the African Cup since its last in 1982 and are desperate for a silverware to appease their discontent fans.

And the Udinese star believes next year’s tournament provides a fine opportunity once more again to clinch the coveted continental title.

The 23-year-old however emphasized on the need to have all of its key players fit to make winning the competition even more feasible.

“We have to hope and pray that all our injured players will be fit,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“We are now heading back to our clubs and we hope to remain injury-free [ahead of the 2015 AFCON].

“So that when the time comes and we need to go to the AFCON, we come and do the job for the nation.”

Ghana had to play its final 2015 AFCON qualifier against Togo without three of its key players; Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah and Andre Ayew who were ruled out through injury.

The trio is however expected to recover way in time for next year’s tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
