Asiedu Nketiah, others are afraid to criticise Mahama - Sir John

Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described the inability of the ruling NDC Executives to tell President Mahama of his abysmal performance in government as cowardice.

According to Sir John as he is called in political circles, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and his co-executives fear that they might lose their seats to some sponsored candidates of the President, hence the counterfeit assurance to President Mahama that his performance will secure him victory in the 2016 elections.

Sir John was rebutting assertions of Asiedu Nketia on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show that Nana Addo’s massive win in the NPP’s Presidential Primaries will make President Mahama’s victory in the 2016 elections very simple.

He however maintained that the comments from the likes of Asiedu Nketia, Yaw Boateng Gyan and Dr. Kwabena Adjei that President Mahama will retain power in 2016 are not the true reflection of how they see the President’s performance; alleging that the old executives have regretted bringing Mahama into power as he has not performed to their satisfaction.

Still alleging, Sir John said President Mahama is aware of the enmity between the NDC executives and him, thus his plan to overthrow the executives who are not his favorite.

“I have already said that John Mahama has planned to overthrow Asiedu Nketia, Yaw Boateng Gyan, Dr. Kwabena Adjei and Yaw Obimpeh and all other old executives and so they are scared to criticize the abysmal performance of President Mahama…..the NDC has regretted bringing Mahama into power due to his abysmal performance in government; they would have wish to change him.

"Asiedu Nketia and the old executives can do that but they are afraid because he has the power to overthrow them, those who are aspiring to replace the old executives are from the camp of the President and they have pumped money into their campaign...those praising John Mahama have no choice but to fake it in order to escape his wrath of overthrow,” he alleged.
