GFA has spent over $36M national teams

Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said, they have since 2006 spent over $36 million on the management of the Black Stars and other national teams.

According to Nyantakyi, the money was not from state coffers but from the own resources.

He however noted that, the GFA has on the other hand, raised 34 million dollars from corporate sponsors, adding that, his outfit has done its best in the management of the teams.

Nyantakyi stated that, the FA is overburdened in the management of the affairs of the various national teams.

The GFA president said, the FA owes coaches of the various national teams to the tune $293,000.

He said, the GFA owes the likes of Herbert Addo, Isaac Opeele Boateng, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, Evans Adotey, among others for their services to the various national teams.

Nyantakyi, said, the FA has over the years paid, $117, 872, with $175,128 remaining as arrears.

He said the FA has over the years paid the coaches instead of the state.

According to the president, state was responsible for the payment of salaries of coaches but due to difficult economic challenges, the salaries have been in arrears.
