AG’s department an emporium for corruption – Minority Leader

Minority Leader in Parliament Osei-Kyei Mensa-Bonsu has raised concerns about the rising levels of corruption in the country, observing that it is affecting every aspect of the economy.

“The level of rot in this country...is unprecedented,” he stated.

Mr Mensa-Bonsu made these remarks on Friday, September 19, when aspiring presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his two-time running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, met delegates of the Ashanti Region to thank them for the resounding victory during the Special Electoral College last month.

Nana Addo polled 80.81 per cent to emerge winner, placing him in pole position to win the party's October 18 presidential primary.

The Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, Mr Mensa-Bonsu, said it is only a Nana Addo-Bawumia ticket that can save Ghana from imminent collapse under President John Dramani Mahama.

“We need the Nana Akufo-Addo-Dr. Bawumia ticket to save this nation.”

He said the two are the most qualified persons to save Ghana from the plague of corruption.

“The AG’s department is now an emporium for corruption,” he stressed.

“We never heard that when Akufo-Addo was Attorney General.”

He asked delegates to endorse the Nana Addo-Bawumia ticket since “they are the men who can fix the mess created (by President John Mahama) and bring relief to Ghanaians.”
