Such 'ugly' approach to the party's internal politics could damage NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo's chances of winning the 2016 election. Nana Akufo-Addo has beaten Alan Kyerematen, and will beat him again as the rank and file endorsement of his leadership bid shows. Whether Alan 'stands down' or not, it's up to him.

To be honest, I've been a bit surprised at how some of Nana's loyalists are fanning the flames of division and bitterness with such increasingly silly, spiteful and divisive rhetoric.

Obviously, the way things are going, I have my doubts if some of Alan's tribal activists will enthusiastically campaign for Nana or even bother to vote for him.

Nana has to improve message discipline among his team and loyalists to ensure party unity if NPP and Nana stand any chance of winning the next general election.

I have in a previous post used the fable of The two mules to suggest that since Nana looked like the only perso among the aspirants who could command significant support from within NPP, whether this support came from the old or young cadres, the rest of the aspirants should all unite behind Nana to ensure that came 2016, NDC is beaten, hands down.
