AFCON 2015: Uganda to arrive on Thursday

The Black Stars’ opponent for the opening qualifiers to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, Uganda will arrive in Ghana for the September 6 clash in Kumasi on Thursday, footy-Ghana has confirmed.

A 19-man Cranes contingent with Darius Mugoye as Leader of Delegation departed the Entebbe International Airport at 6 pm Sunday aboard Ethiopian Airlines to Niamey, where they will play a warm-up friendly with the Niger national team on Tuesday.

Uganda has been dealt an injury blow as midfielder Brian Majwega has been left out with a muscle problem while South African club Amatuks’ insistence on only releasing striker Geoffrey Massa to join camp this Wednesday has forced head coach Micho to rule him out of the Kumasi game.

Uganda are expected to leave Niger and arrive at the Kotoka Airport in Accra on Thursday via Kenya Airways before heading for Kumasi.
