Tailor jailed for having sex with minor

Kwashie Gasu Gakpetor a 34- year- old Tailor was on Thursday sentenced to seven years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court for defiling a 13 year old fruit seller.

Gakpetor smeared his penis with machine oil to serve as lubricant before having sex with the victim in his Tailoring shop.

The convict also gagged the victim with a piece of cloth to prevent her from shouting for help.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agnes Boafo said the complainant is a caterer residing at Galilea Top Town near Weija with the victim who is her daughter.

ASP Boafo said the convict also resides in the same area. On August 15, the victim went to sell fruits in the area where Gakpetor called her to purchase some of the items.

When the victim sent the fruits to the convict, he lured her into his shop and forcefully had sex with her.

The prosecutor said Gakpetor then gave the victim GH? 7: 30 pesewas and asked her to go.

The victim left Gakpetor’s shop crying and she went home to report the incident to her mother.

ASP Boafo said the matter was reported to the Police and the victim was issued with a medical form for her to be examined and treated.
