Ghanaians grab goals in Champs League play-offs

Ghanaian youth midfielder Daniel Amartey scored on his Uefa Champions League debut for FC Copenhagen but Karim Bellarabi’s strike ensured German giants Bayer Leverkusen nicked a narrow 3-2 win.

It was a night that saw three Ghanaians marked their debuts in the competition with two of them scoring in two different games.

German-born Karim Bellarabi who has cemented his place in the Leverkusen side was handed a starting spot at the Parken in Copenhagen while former Ghana U20 invitee Daniel Amartey who joined the Danish giants from Swedish side Malmo FF was also started by the host along with Danish-born striker Danny Amankwaa.

A free-kick into the area was helped back across goal by Jørgensen and Daniel Amartey nodded in from close range to register the win for the host in the 13th minute.
