Country! From nowhere, this gentleman pops up to spew out a lot of hogwash just to 'poison' the debate about about the deplorable situation about 'dumsor, dumsor'. The important question is this: Did the Kufour administration,of which he was a key player, prperly maintain these units and make judicious of them; and if so,how come the whole nation experienced some of worst episodes of 'dumsor, dumsor' during their tenure? i think he should not join the discussion if he cannot provide better forward-looking solution to this national embarassing situation!

Mahama can be equated to Sani Abacha of Nigeria in terms of corruption. Prof Mills wanted Mahama investigated but Mahama was smart to organize his demise to conceal his thiefery.

Sir, it is not a matter of voting a government out. Why do you sit on the fence and complain. Do you think the NPP has something better to offer us. Please give us a break, we are tired of these politicians.

The attempts by NDC gurus and some past senior officials of VRA to sell the Alstom Turbines to themselves, he claimed, had delayed the implementation of the 220 megawatts plant acquired with taxpayers’ money in 2007.

Ghana has three hydroelectric dams: Akosombo dam, Kpong hydroelectric dam and the newly constructed Bui dam. Aside this we have the Aboadze power and Takoradi power plants. I am sure by now we can all conclude that the decision to invest in the West Africa Gas Pipeline was not a prudent one because Nigeria has admitted that they would not be able to supply us with the gas that we need.
However what is disturbing is that the additional power being generated is not being used by our industries or consumers. We supply Togo, Benin and Nigeria through two grids one in the south and one in the North. We also supply ivory coast and Burkina Faso with electricity. Inspite of this the cost of electricity to the average consumer has not declined and many would tell you that it is very expensive. There is another thing I don't understand. The government sometimes tells us there is power crises meanwhile electricity supply to other countries from Ghana continues unabated.
A look at the map of the national electricity grid would tell you straight away that the at least 12 Akyem districts in the Eastern Region which make up more than half the population of the region have been cheated.
In the load shedding exercise it is imperative that some key areas be left out. This should include where the three arms of government work and reside like Sakumono where MPs (representatives) reside and flag staff house and osu castle where the President works and resides. Where the chief justice works and resides should also be included. It should also include the premises of key government institutions like ministries. We need to quadruple our electricity production within the next four years but not through foreign investors.
clear off you did it during your time
