America had George Washington who had the good sense not to declare himself king or president for life like nkrumah . Germany willy Brandt and so on. We have a system of governance and a political party that despises and hates its own people . A judiciary which is as useless as toilet paper because it does know what a penal code is , what is punishment with the hope of rehabilitation rather puts young men in jail for 45 years , confirms rigged elections and enabled wanton theft based on judgement debts . we need a bloody revolution in order the clean this nonsense up and reestablish governance based on common sense , justice and real love for our people and their prosperity

Ghana and Africa in general is a natural resources battleground for already rich and powerful nations and no right thinking industrialised country in this world will sit idle for such a resource rich region to cut a development path by itself and for itself without any interference by the former in the affairs of the latter.
You see your country Ghana should count itself damn lucky to have had radical and daring leader like Kwame Nkrumah to have even had the guts to build initial good economic, industrial, educational, civic and social and political foundations for a comparatively small country such as Ghana. Look around Africa and identify which country that had had it as good as Ghana did.
Without a very tough, radical and revolutionary minded individuals such as Nkrumah and his likes to put their foot down and play the cat and mouse game with the Northern Hemisphere nations so that they could buy time to develop and entrench the structures of their national institutions and maintain them for a considerable period of time before they are handed down to posterity as finished products ready for continuity and business as usual (BAU) operations, no under-developed country will ever make it to a developed status. A case in point is China. Are you in the know of how long China was trampled upon and the pilferage she went through in the hands of the Western Empires and that of neighbouring mighty empire of Japan before they were eventually blessed with Chairman Mao and his team of hard nut revolutionaries to come into the scene and how long it took them to resist the West, put their foot down and did their things their own way before things got up to how they are now for their country?
Research into these things to educate yourself so when you are enlightened you can educate your brethren. You should only have to live in the West, become part of their culture, study their history and traditions, their governmental setups and their structures, their aspirations and aims for their present population and posterity and their innate desire to perpetuate the lifestyles that have been handed over to them by their ancestry by all means possible to appreciate the reality of these matters.

The constitution did not even have a position of Vice-President. Anytime he travelled overseas, he appointed a so-called presidential commission of puppet chiefs to run the country in his absence. While you lived a life of luxury at Flagstaff House, many children in Ghana did not have that luxury. Their fathers were languishing in jail for disagreeing with your father. Under his Preventive Detention Act, many innocent Ghanaians were jailed without trial. Your attempt at revisionist history, is disingenuous. Do you realize that under your father's one-party Ghana, you Samia, could have been sent to Nsawam without trial for speaking your mind or for just belonging to an opposition party?

Everything about your father is true to this day. Without Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Africa, would have found it hard to get out of "Colonialism." I want all our brothers and sister in Ghana and African to know that, the touch Dr. Kwame Nkrumah lit for us is still burning so brightly. We are so fortunate as people in Ghana and for that matter Africa, to have someone like Dr. Kwame Nkrumah us our liberator.
Thank you Samia Yaba Nkruman. We have a lot of work yet to do, so let us all put our minds to it. Let us not forget that the sweat and toil of the founding father of Ghana and Africa and make it better than we have found it.

Well said. I was in my fourth year at Ghana National College and young then in my understanding of politics and development at the time.
Then coming to London to study Politics, Philisophy, and Development Economics, I came to realy understand what Dr Nkrumah was trying to achive. Unfortunately the then opposition either did not understand him or were naive and selfish in their view of how development can be achieved in Ghana in particular and Africa in general.
We lost a great man and a great thinker in 1966.

Kwame Nkrumah still lives in his ideas,principles, writings and achievements.

Africa must unite. The imperative of continental unity is even greater now than it was when Nkrumah first espoused it. Nkrumah's promotion of the African personality and self-determination is very much alive and even more relevant today than it was in his time.

We will forever remember Kwame Nkrumah for the personal sacrifices he made in the struggle for independence, for expanding educational opportunity for all, for our industrial infrastructure, hydroelectricity, Tema harbour, Ghana Maritime University, Ghana Navy and Ghana Airforce and many more.

Let us continue to pursue the ideals Kwame Nkrumah stood for to attain African unity and emancipation of our people from oppression.
