Target! This is the second time this year the don has revealed major flaws in the thinking of our leaders. First, he pointed out how our leaders were taking us for a ride, playing on the intelligence -or lack thereof- of Ghanaians, assuming citizens (Ghanaians) to be clueless. More of such poignant reasoning and policy evaluations! Cheers.

ONE THAT HAS NO IDEA OF HIS OWN IS VERY DANGEROUS A MENTOR,TO TAP INTO.
Decisions control future and every opportunity has choices to make.
Therefore,if one relies on others insights, ideas, suggestions alone or often, but not his own,all the time,he is totally impregnated with dangers, disappointments, quaos and unfruitful deals.
I don't know MAHAMA in person, but you could know someone by what he says:
For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.(MATTHEW 12:34).
HE HAS BEEN SAYING LOTS OF THINGS THAT ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE,IN THE PHASE OF WHAT GHANA FACES NOW.
That shows,he is being deceived and prompted by others to deceive us.
Where is the location(In Ghana) of the TALLEST BUILDING IN AFRICA?
That's one example.

It really amazes me when issues about the economic mess Ghana is in are discussed. The president is the CEO of Ghana Plc. He takes the full responsiblility if things go wrong.Conversely, he takes the full credit if things work well. Just imagine a CEO of a corporation telling his board at directors' meeting that we are not doing well because our competitors are also not doing well. Having been an executive director for several years in the UK, I am sure the question the CEO would be asked is; so our competitors are suffering and we must suffer too? The CEO would have no job after the meeting. The Board of directors expects the CEO to bring on the table solutions and not problems, for that is why he or she was appointed.
Take Britain, during the world wide financial collaspe in the 2008 Conservative Party came to power and inherited a massive fiscal deficit. The government embark on serious austerity measures and cutting costs accross all the ministries, and other public sector institutions and agencies. The UK is not out of the woods yet but the UK economic is of envy of the rest of Europe. All arms of the state should be slimmed down.
The late Margaret Thatcher once said " how can a family survives if it spends more than it earns"
For Ghana to come out of this worrying economy situation, we need a bold and decisive action and tickling with or papering the clackes.
Mr President be bold to take the right actions for the benefit of the country. Even if they make you unpopular you would be blessed you save the country.

mahama is just a poser with nothing good in his head ,even our archenemy jj is telling him to reshuffle his useless ministers out but forgets the essence of leadership . if the president already doesn't have a plan of development then he cant expect not to be overwhelmed by events . mahama has been plagued by one pestilence of woe after another because of the evil deeds he has committed such as the murder of mills and his proactive tribalism of the northerners. you can not fit 3 pints of water in a pot that only holds a pint , we can not fit the nation of Akan in this confinement called Ghana as the potential is far greater . Ghana limits our diaspora to those who left after 1957 , the nation of Akan recognizes those in Brazil , Caribbean ,USA etc centuries ago as all children of Akan and most welcome home just as the Israelis also are not limited by time . yes even Michelle Obama is a child of the Akan nation like it or not . We can not talk of the unification of the African continent if the true identities and real stakeholders remain imprisoned in their own countries. we have govts who only wish to retain power but ask the Berbers Yoruba , igbo or whoever individually if they want African unity today like the European union and they will confirm. its their govts who pay lip service but in reality are all against . everywhere we have vultures of corruption perched at the highest offices of the land bleeding the people of their lifeblood dry like the evil vampires they are . yes the uprising of the Akan we have global ramifications and a new breeze of justice will flow throughout the world . long live the republic of Akan

Excuse me to say, do we really have professors or doctors in Ghana or they just bought their degrees for the sake of lifting themselves when it comes to positions? Because there is no sign or indications in them that shows how worth they are. They can not come out with a good finding in their research. Even to come out with good analysis in their various field becomes a problem to them. If nothing come out of their thinking, what are worth for? Of recent, one of them said he discovered if a child drink cow milk he will behave like cow. Another one also came out with his own finding that, Twoo-zafi, banku, kenkey, fufu and so on causes cancer. And now somebody is also telling us we do not need president. Frankly speaking, this is really serious. Our country Ghana have no academics. We need to find out how they obtain their certificate. Or simple disqualify them completely. Even a college student of two years can come out with this findings without reading a book. Ghana is in trouble.

Please ppl stop denigrating the president at every situation, we as Ghanaians must try to strengthen our democracy, if anyone have a better idea, offer it through your MP or sector minister, the president will only be in power for four years and it will be up to us whether he is re-elected or be given a boot. We need to change our attitude towards our presidents, everyday president this, president that, and some ppl are specifically rooting for the failure of the president, but who loose when the president fail, this somehow must stop, after all George Bush was president for 8yrs and America did not collapse. No one has the magic bullet to fix things overnight, we keep talking about Nana would have done better, may be true but we don’t know that, after all he was MP from Abuakwa for two terms, go there and check what is so remarkable about his performance, when he was attorney general the only thing that come to mind was the passport scandal and later on found with some women using it for their drug business. As Ghanaians, we have a duty to contribute our quota to fix our own economy through collaboration...

We'll like to bring PEACE FM'S attention to the situation that is going on in their sister Radio station at GhanaToday HOLLAND. It has been cleared to the listeners of Ghana Today radio , how the presenter Kofi nyarko was rude to the sympathizers of the ruling NDC Gov, on his "wosukabi" program. Kofi nyarko did not end his rudeness, but Kofi organized members from his npp party, especially those who were akan's, they were carefully selected to come on air to dehumanized the rest of the tribes here in Ghana on his radio show. We the listeners here in Ghana can confirm to the PEACE FM management that the home grown npp terrorist who is now residing in Holland kofi nyarko, has done the same thing he was used to on Monday the 10th of February, when one of his regular caller named Joe Canada ,the sympathizer of the ruling NDC Gov. We heard this gentleman who called the program to refute to the comments one of the caller who is also a sympathizer of the opposition party the npp. The npp man called the program and run insults and accused the people from the Volta Region for the hardships the country is currently facing, he said according to him, he didn't understand why the Ewe's should elect somebody like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa as their MP , he asked? He went on by saying the Ewe's gives their Votes to anything in front of them, even animals. This uncalled-for words goes down well for the host Kofi nyarko which he congratulated the frustrated npp caller. When the sympathizer to the ruling NDC Gov, Joe Canada, also call the program to refute the unfortunate comments from the npp caller, kofi nyarko who can't hide his affection support for the opposition p npp party ,quickly jumped to defend the npp caller. Kofi nyarko gave his strong warning to the NDC caller not to dare call his radio programs to contribute again, he went on to said , he won't even pick up his call anytime he sees he Joe Canada's number on his phone. These ugly situations compelled some of us to send a strong warning to PEACE FM management, to urgently arrest this situation before its get out of hands. We believed kofi nyarko is trying hard to sow a tribal seeds between us here in GHANA and abroad. The management of PEACE FM must know that kofi nyarko who was placed on npp pay roll to tarnish the ruling NDC Gov, and his division tactics by playing a tribal cards is dangerous to our society and our young democracy here in GHANA We are looking forward to see the management of PEACE FM to call un-erected host kofi nyarko to immediate order before we hit the street of Accra.

Dr Lloyd Amoah, there is no logic in your statement and analysis. Even in the UK some global economic factors have their impact on the economy that both the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer are powerless to deal with. Do you remember the free fall of the pound sterling under the John Major's government when Norman Lamont was the Chancellor? Did that mean UK should not have had a Prime Minister? Do you remember the global financial melt down in 2008? Did that mean the US and the UK (centres of the global financial markets) which caused the melt down should not have had President and Prime Minister respectively because they were powerless over the causes of the melt down? NO. There must be leaders to respond effectively to finding solutions to the problems and that was what they did through quantitative easing, new laws to regulate the financial sectors, public expenditure cuts, etc.
The matters referred to by the President have nothing to do with the free fall of the cedi because the situation in Ghana are self-inflicted. Even if they had any bearing in Ghana the country must still have a leader.

The cause of the depreciation of the cedi is domestic inflation. Ghana spent too much on the election and the wage bill. Ghana then issued a lot of debt in dollars to be paid back in dollars. What is happening is expected because of the actions of the Ghana government and the bank of Ghana. There is no need to try to turn it into "a global phenomenon" Please consider the 2 points below.
1] Internationally the dollar is strengthening against some currencies other than the Cedi so one could argue that the cause of the rapid depreciation of the Cedi is external and not internal. However a counter argument is that the Cedi is losing ground against several currencies including the CFA, the Euro and British Pound. Further currencies like the Naira are not losing much ground against the dollar in the same time period.
2] It is true that cocoa and gold prices did lose some ground but that has happened before without such a drastic effect on the Cedi. Further recently gold prices actually seem to pick up again so we do put much stock into falling gold prices causing the Cedi to fall though it is certainly an important factor

John Mahama doesn't understand what he is talking about. The withdrawal of subsidies on utilities and the over expenditure of the government have acted in concert with the shortage of foreign currencies, significantly the USD, to cause the depreciation of the cedi.
We have a dull and dumb president. It is obvious that if you index your currency to another one,the volatility of the base currency will affect your own. However,it doesn't mean that you should fold your arms and watch helplessly. The essence of fiscal and monetary policies are to manage transmitted challenges posed by the base currency.Albeit, the volatility of the USD cannot be controlled by Ghana,we can neutralize its effect on our economy by:
(1)Boosting our own USD earnings through exports
(2)Importing less
(3)Pumping more USD into the forex market from our foreign currency reserves at the Bank of Ghana.
(4)Being vigilant and acting rapidly.
(5)being foresighted and anticipating the the shocks.
(6)Expanding our industrial base.
John Mahama and Dr. Wampah should bear the blame for the rapid depreciation of the cedi.

One thing I know, however, is that Dr. Lloyd Amoah does not know what he is talking about.
What is happening to our Cedi and the dismal performance of the Ghanaian economy, is more the call of the Governor of BoG and the Minister of Finance. The Federal Reserve Bank and not president Obama is ultimately responsible for the general health of the US economy. Stop spreading the ignorance !

As an analyst for Afro-China you should know that prices of commodities fluctuates globally due to demand and supply of those commodities. No president has control over that. It is a globally thing.
Today being valentine day means the whole world will be consuming a lot of chocolate there by increasing the demand for cocoa: meaning the price of cocoa will inch up a little. Does the president of Ghana have anything to do with that?
Again, the depreciation of the cedi against the dollar is due to the US Fed pulling back on the stimulus package supporting the US stock market and also, the downward prices of Ghana's main foreign exchange earners: cocoa, gold and oil. Does the President have anything to do with this???
I will think as an analyst for Afro-China, you will be talking about how Ghana can improve of exporting goods and services to China to increase our exports than to say Ghana does not need a President.
I can as well say Afro-China does not need an Analyst.
