Starting from the days of Nkrumah every minority ethnic group comes to power with the mentality of my time has come '' we go chop Ghana money some '' and do everything to ensure this . nkrumah using the old strategy of divide and rule , pit brother against brother divided the fanti speaking people into 2 regions , rawlings came and used the same methods to pit part of the fantis and ashantis against each other and now pepeni is [laying the same game of northerners against southerners and all non Akans against the Akans . Billions have been approved in parliament in the past few years and the monies disappeared meanwhile they shove down our throats stories of 3,5 million and rumours of CIA basically accusing Akans again of corruption as diversions to the real truth of the looting of those hiding behind the ndc party . our problem in a nutshell is hegemony tribalism and chauvinism and the evil fruits are corruption , destruction of the economy and treacherous enmity between brothers . with out the unification of all the potentials and peoples of the land there can be no progress or development leading to industrialization and real meaning well paying jobs for our children no matter the natural resources . that is also the the problem of the Arab world who will forever remain trapped in a quasi feudal society , we Akans choose a different path and will most surely secede as there is no other alternative , long live the republic of Akan

Kuffour cannot say he hadn't improved financially through the dubious ways that he ruled!! Look at the money sunk into the Flagg Staff House?? From about $40 m to $120m and how won't Ghanaians complain when things done under Kuffour were so opaque?? Why did he dislodge his security adviser!!!

Kwasi Pratt and his CJA hangers-on urged on Rawlings, and in fact Kwasi Pratt and CJA day in day out echoed all the nonsense from Rawlings. It turned out that John Mills govt fared no better than Kufuor in the eyes of Rawlings. Rawlings actually labelled Mills govt as the worst ever as far as corruption was concerned and we all know the genesis of the "greedy bastards" mantra of Rawlings. Kwasi Pratt, an avowed critic of NPP, stoutly defended Mills govt. Does Pratt seriously think that NPP could have defended Mills after they (NPP themselves) have been accused by Rawlings and the entire NDC? Kwasi Pratt's hatred for NPP beclouds his thinking. Pratt has never been fair to NPP. Instead of roundly condemning Rawlings for the sickening untruth he blurted out against Kufuor, Pratt would rather accuse NPP for not defending Mills when Rawlings said similar things. For the life of me, I don't know why former president Rawlings used that solemn occasion to say what he said. There was no link at all between what he was doing at the time and what he said. That is my main problem. Being the astute political being that he is, he knew exactly where and when to say something to get the maximum coverage and reaction even if he is saying something outrageous.

Secondly, I have always wished that former President Rawlings had played the normal roles that former Presidents play - be a statesman, select a noble cause and put the prestige of his former office behind that cause etc. Alas, by his actions he has opened himself up to insults and ridicule.

For any objective political/social observer to state so categorically that the rule/reign of Jerry Rawlings was a waste, and that nothing good came out it, smacks of pure political posturing. Jerry Rawling is not Jesus, neither is he an angel. But who is? Have we been ruled by Jesus and angels? This is why our country is what it is. Our side is always right and the other side, they are just evil.

Former President Rawlings should stop getting involved in this verbal spats, he should let posterity judge his role in our country's development. The rot in Ghana including corruption did not start with Rawlings and will not end with him. He has been out of power for over a decade now and can we say honestly that the issue of corruption has become better since he left. Oh, I have forgotten, it is still his fault, we have been cleaning the mess he left.

If i may remind you Rawlings and others ceased power and lined up most of our past leaders and killed them by firing squad many innocent Ghanaians were brutalised,robbed of their hard earned properties through the so called house cleaning exercise out of envy.
To Rawlings in particular,even driving in a car was a crime.So many things he accused and imprisoned people of,he's done worst.He now lives in luxury something he condemned.I don't have a problem with that but his continuos onslaught on Ghanaians and disrespect for nobody is a matter for concern.
He is no better than those he accuse and rain insults.He must show some respect as somebody who has been a leader of a nation before.

I mentioned Jesus because you asked "Why is he Jesus?" You see, I remember both 1979 and Dec. 31st 1981 very well. I don't hold brief for Jerry and his cohorts for what they did on both occasions. I know that he bears the brunt of what happened during his rule and worse of all, he is the only one who can't keep his mouth shut and accusing others all the time. Boakye Djan is walking around a free and none of the 1979 venom goes his direction. Why? mainly because keeps quiet and makes rare public comments.
Wofa Yaw, being objective to me also means seeing things from various angles. There is not only one truth. My broader view is that Jerry may be the wrong person to raise the issue of corruption is our society, but that does not make the issue illegitimate. I am trying to go beyond the messenger. I know because of Jerry's past his utterances make people's blood boil, for good reason. I am just looking past him despite his eruptions. His days are gone that is why I pay less attention to him.
My contribution here is based on my concerns for corruption currently destroying our country, and here I don't think that concept/phenomenon/behaviour/practice is one sided. Bluntly put it has no party colours.

This Pratt of a human being is a confusionist. He rarely makes any sense in his comments, but being the Pratt that he is, his views are widely circulated to embarass him, only for him to come out again with more nonsensecal views.
He is in the media, and must rather channel his comments to the hearing of Rawlings and Mahama. To Mahama expecially, because there are warnings in what JJ is saying. According to him, the CIA warned Kuffour to check corruption otherwise there could be an uprising, and the Americans would not come to Kuffour's aid. Kuffour heeded the warning, and the rest is now history. We did not need the Americans after all!
Interpreted into modern day palance, JJ is warning Mahama to do everything in his power to check corruption otherwise there could be a coup, and he, Rawlings, would not be able to save Mahama from the Teshie range slaughter! It is all too vivid. There is always blood in the tsetsefly. Who thinks JJ cannot start another coup? He is so power drunk that he thinks he alone can save Ghana. He also knows that just like he murdered Afrifa who had left office about 10 years before his 1979 coup, any uprising would set aside the indemnity clause he forced into the 1992 constitution and take him to the very place he took Afrifa and co for their last communion.
When it is doing it is coming. About 5 weeks before he was murdered, Afrifa advised the SMCII and Akuffo-Addo to be wary of the then arrested JJ with the words: "You must be careful about this boy. If you have to, do get rid of him as soon as possible. Otherwise, if he gets out again, I cannot predict what he would do to the two of us when he gets another chance". What he really did to the two of them on 26th June 1979 is now history.
That is what is exactly causing JJ the nightmares. He sees the same situation the country was facing in May 1979 being played back in 2013. There is so much unknown in the clouds. Unlike in 1979, our media houses are now preaching a coup. Even NDC supporters can foresee an uprising. Let enybody who has an ear hear JJ. The man has spoken!!!

Rawlings does not have the wisdom which he appears to ascribe to himself. For a long time, it has been apparent that Rawlings was trying to establish himself as the warlord in Ghana, to whom all politicians must pay homage. This mindset must be rejected completely. Corrupt practices existed in the Kuffuor regime. Corrupt practices also existed in the Rawlings regime. In both regimes, the corrupt practices were allowed to continue even when known, or should have been known, by the top man. Rawlings is not a man who has the sophistication to offer constructive critiques.

Rawlings is completely confused and feels miserable. And it serves him right. After I served as primary school class one ( P1) Class captain, the Lord granted me wisdom and insight of how a satisfied leader looks like. My job was a servant to the class. I served my classmates with counters, black slates, broken chalks, pencils, exercise and reading books. In addition to these services, were cleaning and painting 5feet by 45feet area with charcoal and dead torchlight batteries.
Rawlings never had the opportunity to serve as servant but as a bossy. He never acquired the skills deserving a leader. And so could not achieve the inner satisfaction of a serving leader's award. Bossy leaders award for himself is cleaving for worth by coup. His blood has installed all the evil things he has done for mother Ghana in his heart.
So any time it pops up he feels so disturbed, confuse and miserable. He ever wished he would have not than those things, had he known the consequence was longing for death. But Kuffour granted him reconciliation . Just like Mandela did to his oppressor; The most painful revenge to once enemies, is forgiveness and reconciliation.
Whenever Mr. Rawlings reflect on this, or wherever the atmosphere portrays the mood of forgiveness and reconciliation, it turns to be a death penalty for him.
Two ways to solve his problem. He should OPENLY, TRULY and HUMBLY render a sincere apology to Ghanaians for forgiveness. OR if he feels so ashamed for his known and secret heinous atrocities to be confessed publicly; then he should seek the indulgence of SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST for secret confession.
Mr. Ex. Pres. Rawlings Jesus loves you, and so I love you too. I am praying for you to become a disciple for Lord Jesus. May God bless you and Nana Yaa and the entire family
