Petitioners file 16-box address at Supreme Court

The petitioners challenging the results of the 2012 general elections have concluded filing their addresses with the Registrar at the Supreme Court, Joy News can confirm.

Two of the lawyers brought before the Registrar 16 boxes each containing legal documents and CD-Roms to back their claims that the 2012 elections were indeed flawed.

Joy News' Anny Osabutey who is present at the court confirmed this a while ago.

The respondents are, however, yet to file their addresses, Osabutey added.

The parties involved in the presidential election petition were directed by the judges hearing the case to file their addresses on July 30, 2013 after almost seven months of legal wrangling in court.

The respondents have until the close of day to also file their addresses.

Addresses are summaries of the case argued in court. They contain the position of the law on the issues argued, and a last gasp attempt to convince the judges hearing a particular case.
