When you speak of breaking the law, I get that, but you cannot be selective about that. Brown would not have been the only performer in that category now or in the past, but any argument against that can have its merits.
However, you vcannot say that the country is poor, and so those who have managed to work hard and earn their money cannot spend it on what they want because the country is poor. Such people could easily take that money and go to New York, London, Honk Kong, Bangkok etc, and splash it out of sight on greater luxuries and other people will benefit from it. I am sure that the organization of the performance here meant that some local hotels, transportation agencies and even street vendors got some benefits selling their stuff. Perhaps, other people from neighboring countries came for the show, bringing money from outside into our system We need to start thinking strategically about how private capital can contribute to both development entertainment and the and well-being of our economy, including doing things which allow local entrepreneurs to share in their private accumulated wealth and keeps the money in Ghana, rather than forcing these people to take their money abroad.

Here in the US, for example, the biggest private companies are also often the beneficiaries of huge defense and other government contracts. But they are not labelled as public because they got government contracts. Government, in principle, has to go to those who can do an efficient job at the best price. Whether they always do that may be debated, but that is true for all governments the world over. But again, that does not negate the fact that these companies are private, and are doing their best to offer their services to anyone at a profit,
