I smell a rat in this interview with the responses of our airport authorities. It seems to me things are not all good at the KIA. The officials of the GCAA, seem to be protecting their jobs seriously so as not to embarrass the state authorities. I can't understand for example how can Abidjan airport and the KIA be operating on the same frequency? Again how come we have to be notified by telephone calls from our neighbours of an air craft in our flight space, because we cannot notice that through our own radar? Why should the satelite picther broken down for about a year now should remain broken down? What are we waiting for? A disaster? We need to set our priorities right!! I think it is un acceptable that the inland airports, aerodromes and air strips need a minimum meteorological equipments respectively! because these meteo eqipments would give up to date weather information for other activities in these areas!

That train station you call an airport? When you get to Kotoka and you want to help a family member with their bags to go and check in, the security guards just wont allow you (they're acting on instructions from short sighted turkeys with pot bellies). My nightmare was when my sister, with all her bags an little baby was made to push 3 suitcases and at the same time carrying a child. I have been to better airports and the only place you're not allowed is beyond the security check point. Useless airport.

Lighting on an airport runway is simply called runway lights and not street lights. I do not believe that the Director General of the GCAA would ever refer to these as "street light" quoted by the publication.
