I made a pact with my creator never to fly on Delta to Accra. They treat passengers from New York like disposable commodities, and subject them to unnecessary and unwarranted searches, sometimes two or three times before they board their flights to Accra. They are so disrespectful to Ghanaian travelers, it is a crying shame. I go with British Airways, and I am satisfied with their service and treatment of passengers, not Delta, but I don't blame them. If we are not stupid enough to run our own airline to the ground, we will not be in the situation that we are in with these foreign airlines.

I am glad that the petition we put in has started bearing fruits. It is time the airlines started treating Ghanaian traveler with utmost respect and dignity. We will continue to press for our rights and make sure that new and well maintained aircraft are put on the U.S. Accra routes. The fact is whether it is Ghana Airlines or not we deserve to be treated well just like the way our European or American travelers are treated on other airlines. The Ghana authorities should not give in. They should put pressure on all airlines going to Accra to offer excellent services to passengers.

I HAVE ONLY FLOWN WITH DELTA ONCE TO GH. AFTER THE TERRIBLE ORDEAL I WENT THRU WENT THEM, I SWORE TO NEVER, EVER FLY WITH THEM AGAIN. DELTA INTENTIONALLY ANGERS THEIR CLIENTS FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL REASONS. THE NOTION THAT NEGATIVE TREATMENT WILL BRING BACK REPEAT CUSTOMERS, AND MAKE AN IMPRINT ON ONE'S TRAVEL EXPERIENCES, IS WELL VERY TRUE. PAY ATTENTION TO THE STATISTICS OF REPEAT OFFENDERS, REPEAT DELTA CLIENTS? WELL, NOT FOR ME. IF YOU CAN TREAT ME LIKE THIS THE FIRST TIME, WHY WONT YOU TREAT ME WORSE THE NEXTTIME? THAT IS THE PLAIN TRUTH AND PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND DELTA. ITS CALLED THE BUSINESS OF PSYCHOLOGY. DELTA WILL PURPOSELY ANGER AND FRUSTRATE YOU. TO THOSE WHO COMPLAIN, DELTA WILL ISSUE YOU TRAVEL VOUCHERS FOR YOUR NEXT FLIGHT. AND THAT IS WHERE THEY START MAKING YOU A LOYAL DELTA CLIENT.
I HAVE OVER 500 DOLLARS IN FREE DELTA TRAVEL VOUCHERS STILL IN MY POSSESSION, BUT I WILL NEVER USE THEM. ITS NOT WORTH IT

Why you guys didn,t criticize Ghana Airways like that. Where was GCAA when passengers were complaining about Ghana Airways. Delta can stop coming to Ghana without losing anything.

So don't make that mistake. WE DO NOT NEED DELTA.
In fact they need us. Take a minute and look at the dynamics of trade and people-movement in today's world. EVERYBODY is now eyeing Africa. It's a bad time for any international company to start attracting negative publicity to itself.

It has never crossed my mind to consider Delta Airlines when ever I make my travel arrangements? No! I have witnessed how passengers travelling on Delta Airlines through Roberts International Airport (RIA) in Liberia are handled and treated without any respect nor decorum. Passengers on travelling on flights which have been delayed and resulted in rescheduling are not given adequate information or advice. Some of these passengers travel the long distance from Monrovia to RIA a distance of approximately 50 km (depending on where you live) only to arrive at the airport to be informed
by RIA security flight time has changed. Due to the travelling distance to and from the airport some of these passengers are forced to remain at the airport for hours before the "new" check-in commences.
It is no different when you look at the situation in Accra with regards to passengers availing of Delta Airline services. I had to see off my nephews at the Accra airport travelling on Delta, it was a mess!!
My Question : Is Delta the only airline targeted by so called terrorists? Why then would they subject passengers on this African route in a manner that leaves you with out much to say other than
to blame oneself for patronizing Delta and making a wiser decision the next time you plan your trip? For the sake of our sanity , my family and I , including some friends have
decided to travel the longer route on any other carrier across the Atlantic to our final destinations in the USA.
Delta Airlines for all I care can pack and leave Accra and Liberia, they would be the great losers. The fares they charge to Africa is not competitive either. Furthermore, the international carriers
make most of their profits by flying to Africa , Ghana inclusive which is why Delta will have no choice than to improve its services or it would soon begin to see a down trend in their sales!

I have NEVER had faith in any Government organization because they do not have the guts to work on behalf of the people. They are always behaving as if we are being favored. I consider the statement, "its operations were critical to the growth of the aviation industry in Ghana, as well as contributing to the economic development of the country". to be so simple minded. We need them because nearly a third of their ticket prices are taxes imposed by the Ghana government. They make a fortune here and behave as if we are animals without any rights. If they stop flying here, another airline will be here in no time. I suggest that those who want to fly from the US consider the european airlines. Not that they are any friendlier, but their service is better. The GCAA does not have our interest in mind. They can be bought very easily.

The only way for this problem to be solved is that one of the strong domestic airlines needs to team up with Royal Air Maroc so that connections can be made from Accra, Kumasi and Tamale to Cassablanca and then people can fly direct from there. This will shake up the market and force prices to drop and service to get better. With no competition, Delta can do what they want and get away with it.
