Why do you think that the decision not to challenge a Supreme Court ruling in an electoral dispute is an affront to the basic fundamental right of an individual being a respondent to a suit at the SC?

The judges are human and are prone to errors. There should be an alternate way of confirming an earlier decision. That directive must be strongly opposed by all well meaning Ghanaians

The NPP is saying the numbers were doctored, so the commonsense solution is to crosscheck all the votes cast with actual numbers reported, and certify the results in the presence of all party agents. Our democracy has come of age, it is time for the nation to believe in the rule of law. Failure to do will still keep us in this underdeveloped state. No nation would be interested in dealing with a country whose justice system promotes injustice.

As illegitimate President, he cannot rule the country effectively because majority of the people will not take him serious nor respect him as a leader. That is a blatant subversion and overthrow of the supreme law of the land which clearly states that a president can only be removed by an IMPEACHMENT process and elected through the Ballot box. We believe that Georgina Woods some where last year, deliberately smuggled a blatantly treasonable article into C.I 74 at the blind-side of everybody. Now John Mahama is lying to us about this elections being credible, meanwhile trying all manner of tricks to stop delay judgement of the case before courts? Well if he thinks he has won the elections genuinely, he should relax for justice to prevail and all Ghanaians will hail him. Results which have been counted in the full glare of Ghanaians and are collated to the advantage of the president are being portrayed to be false. The propaganda work and machinery of the NPP is at work.
This is being supported and given weight by the newspapers sympathetic to the course of the NPP.
For me I will not blame the NPP because the NDC has intentionally or unintentionally accepted a lay-back posture.
We can do this propandanda work better than they are doing but for the leadership attitude of the NDC. These people know nothing aside this type of politics and it is time our people wake up.The lies and propaganda being churned into the public domain should be dealt with with speed and reasoned argument.
The expectation of the NPP is that NDC will look on whilst they massage figures and present them to the court to be the true result. The results from the polling stations are no secrets and are not available to the NPP.These people think they are smart and I will continue to see them as ''professional thieves''.

If NPP does not want to be losing general elections, they must repent of their alienating ways. In an election everybody's vote counts equal whether the person is a kayaye or a business tycoon. Key NPP members openly despise persons from certain parts of the country and expect them for them. Utterances like, "Ashantis should kill Gas and Ewes", "yen akanfuo", "had it not been free education the educated Northerners would have been cattle herders", "pepeni too want to be president" etc are potential vote losers.
NPP should search their souls to find out why they only win Ashanti Region and the Akyem part of Eastern Region in an election.
If you lose an election, it is because majority of the voters did not vote for you and not that you were cheated.
Before the elections, NPP's watchword was vigilance just like NDC. They were well alert so as not to be cheated. Both the NPP and NDC each had 2 agents at each of the 26,000 polling stations. At the strong rooms and collating centres were high ranking officials as their respective party executives. They were as careful as not to accept even food or drink from the other for fear that it might be poisoned or drugged.
All the votes at the polling centres were counted in the open and aloud for all who were there to hear and this was recorded with copies given to each party.
At what stage did all these vigilant persons go to sleep for NDC to connive with the EC to pad the figures for President Mahama and reduce those of Akufo Addo.
NPP's accusation of an Israeli Company of having facilities that intercepted faxed election results and changing them to favour the NDC is a fable that would make NPP look like a group of illiterates who do not know how a fax system works.
Even when the SC tells them they lost, they would reject it. Living in denial is an NPP cultural heritage.
They refused to admit that the NDC chalked even one achievement but those who are benefiting from the numerous achievements of NDC had their their thumb power and they have spoken.

The first thing the LMVCA should know is that what the NPP is doing is an attempt to disenfranchise over 600,000 voters because they claim these citizens voted without a functioning machine. Will the LMVCA invite the 600,000 eligible voters who voted without the biometric machines to join the alliance and preach “let my vote count” in unison with them? Why not advise the leaders of the NPP to give those voters a chance of re-voting with the biometric equipment so that their votes will also count?

Secondly, the 4,800 witnesses are not just a group of people. 4,709 of them will be NDC party agents who were at the 4,709 polling stations where the NPP claims irregularities occurred. The call of the president is not a ploy to delay proceedings, but rather give an account of each polling station using the real guys who were on the ground. This is legal and moral.

Every Ghanaian has a right to challenge any law that is made to bind him. Whether there are linkages between those challenging parts of CI74 and the President is of no substance. The question that we should be asking is whether those sections are constitutional or not. And let the court determine that. At times, until a test case rises, no one is able to know the legality or otherwise of some laws.

For example: Until this petition by the NPP it never occurred to some of us that regulation 30(2) of CI75 is flawed. It is flawed because it obliges a voter to be verified by a machine before being given a ballot to vote. What happens in case of failure of the machine? The answer could be found in regulation 34 (1)b which orders that subject to approval by the commission, the election should be postponed.

Why postpone a whole election at a polling centre just because a machine has failed to work, when there are other valid methods of identifying a voter? Why not add a law to oblige the commission to have at least a replacement for the machine at every single polling station? These are issues that ought to be dealt with before the next election, because we cannot subject the destiny of our nation to the functioning (or malfunctioning) of a machine, when we have human alternatives. Maybe I should also challenge this regulation in court.

If you want to go to court, you should be prepared to face the challenges posed by your adversary. Just as you have every right to sue, your adversary also has every right to defence – provided his acts lie within the confines of the law. Let the court decide whether or not the 4,800 witnesses can be accepted.

And please let every ballot properly cast be counted, even if not today, tomorrow.

It would have been far better if this public education had preceded the election. At page 116 Regulation 18 - Equipment for Polling Stations; surprisingly no mention is made of biometric machines.

CI 75 under Voting Procedure, however requires a mark to be made on the voter. It is obvious that the entire verification process was intended to prevent multiple voting but not to deny people their right to vote if the machine was not functioning and they had other means of identifying themselves especially where the CI accepts that facial recognition is a means of identifying the voter. If that was not the intention why would the pink sheets have a section to record such votes. And why did the NPP not object to the pro-forma prior to the election?

Democracy is good but it is also a painful process when you want things done quickly. I don't vote NDC and I have never voted any party that has links to NDC/CPP. However,regarding the legal issues pending in the Supreme Court it seems to me that some people if not majority of NPP my party has pointed themselves judges over the case and therefore believe that they can decide for the NDC how they should defend themselves and that is belony. We have presented our case lets wait for the justice system to play its role in deciding how many witnesses they will allow or which personalities are able to join themselves to the case. In such a case of great magnitude, no one should fool himself to think that it is going to be on a quick fiix or be won on a silver platter.
